Let's Play Umineko, Episode 4 Tea Party: The Clues

October 5th, 1986, 11:51 PM
9 minutes remain

Battler is alone in the Ushiromiya mansion.

There were no answers. For the entirety of the second day, not a thing happened.

The chapel had been locked, but the keys to the mansion were left at its entrance. That's how he got in here.

As Gohda described, the corpses are dead in the dining room. The stench fills the house.
Maria's corpse was left alongside Rosa's.

Nobody came. Nothing happened. Battler is alone.
With nothing else to do, Battler plays detective.

Maria's corpse, unlike the others, appears to be from poisoning. If the culprit had so much firepower, why?

Battler searches the floor carefully, but doesn't find any sign of a trap door or anything. However, it's a Devil's Proof, isn't it?
George was likely shot and killed when he arrived for his test. Jessica's room was locked, and she was dead inside it, half her head destroyed.

It didn't seem like there was a killer in the room with her when she was on the phone. So what heppened here? How was she able to predict the form of her own corpse while dying alone in a closed room?

Out in the garden, in a typhoon, there's no way Jessica could have seen George clearly. Also, Jessica didn't know where George's test was being held.
So how did she know how he died?

Kyrie died not with a destroyed head, but with a stake to the forehead.
Her room was locked, too, but she had said she was being attacked from outside. The locks in the mansion aren't so big that a bullet could pass through them, so what happened there?

Again and again it was repeated. There was no tricks or illusions. Kinzo and his followers used magic to kill everyone.

Krauss's body is out behind the mansion. Half the head destroyed, a stake buried in the wound.

Nanjo and Shannon's corpses were found outside an old well behind the mansion. Heads smashed. Stakes lying next to each damaged head.
Could this well be the secret passage to Kuwadorian? Kyrie said that was how she escaped.

Battler gets some wire cutters and a hatchet from the boiler room to force the cover open. In said room he finds Kinzo's burnt corpse, stuffed into the boiler. Six toes on each foot.
While he's got the tools to do it, he breaks into the garden storehouse.

Gohda and Kumasawa did not commit suicide. The shed key is in Gohda's pocket.
That's a total of 16 confirmed corpses. The only body missing is Kanon's.

Battler tries to break through the bars with the tools from the boiler room, but eventually gives up. The cover is sturdier than it looks.

If Kanon is in this well, it's another closed room.
Who is Kanon? Is he an ally of the witch? Is he the culprit?

The three main mysteries of this incident are the magical stories of the victims, the method of killing, and the locked rooms.
But there's more than that, too. The circumstances of Maria's corpse. Jessica knowing about George's death. Kinzo's burnt corpse. Everything about this is a total mystery.

As Battler heads off to go to bed, he passes the portrait in the lobby. It's nearly midnight.

Who is the Golden Witch?
Why did they come here?
