Let's Play Umineko Chiru, Episode 6 Scene 36: The Challenge

<< | ^^ | >>

And if she doesn't, the Siestas will shoot? Why should she pick it up?!
She doesn't have to. However, we and the demon attendants would probably spread the word far and wide that she dishonorably ran away from a duel!

If Erika kicks away that glove, Beato will be annihilated on the spot.

If she doesn't pick up the glove, it means she feels doubt about her absolute victory.

Oh? And why is that?
I've brought a wonderful gift just perfect for you. You want to know what that is. Therefore, you'll pick it up.
Not interested. Goodbye.
You'll pick it up.. I know... that you want to hear about the closed room I've brought you, which, unlike that trivial guest room of Battler's, is simple, basic... and absolutely cannot be solved.
...A closed room... that absolutely... cannot be solved...?
I know you want to accept my challenge. After all, you are...

BGM: Rurair

If you pick that glove up, I will prove that I have fixed it in my fight against you.
Good!

Dlanor pushes the crowds back. Nobody is allowed to interfere with this duel.

H... How...?
I'm going to save you now. Please endure just a little longer...

Kanon's formless spirit rushes across the garden. No rain touches him. No tracks are left in the mud.

The closed door does nothing to stop Kanon's advance.

Kinzo would sometimes let him fire off the rifles for fun.

Krauss would talk casually with him when the others weren't around.

Natsuhi was rough, but under too much of her own stress.

Genji was like a father to him. Kumasawa like a mother.

Gohda would swell with pride when he complimented his stew.

Shannon taught him to see the blue sea.

If they had been together long enough, they would have understood one another some day.

The reasons for love could have waited. In the present, all that was needed was the truth that that love existed.

Battler is lying in the hallway, a chain tied to his neck. He's been trying for so long to escape this hell.

Battler never imagined that someone would come to save him. He's afraid to believe this is true.

Kanon drags Battler back into that prison.

All the damage to this hell is from Battler's refusal to give up trying to find an escape route.

To protect Beato's game, he was almost willing to tear his body to pieces.

Battler's heart slowly stirs. He's able to recognize Kanon.

There is no longer anything binding Battler in this room. Kanon will stay in his place.

He can't keep her waiting any longer.

Battler silently opens the door.

Battler runs.

The burden of this room's impossible hell no longer hangs on Battler.

Kanon hides in the closest. The logic error is resolved.

Kanon's debt to Beatrice is repaid in full.

So, his existence is no longer necessary.

Flintlocks, are they? How old-fashioned.
Pay it no mind. Demons are very particular about style.

Beato...
There's no need to worry. She'll win easily, and you'll have to deal with her insults agian, Lia.
When this match is over, we should ask to be paid every now and then. I would like to take a trip down to the Caribbean sometime.
Enough talk about 'when the fight is over'... That's an ill omen before a duel.
Beato! Take this seriously! This is no time to be standing around laughing!
Why is Riicihe relaxed and Lia tense? Come on.

Normally, witches can win by numbers. However, since the game has been suspended, she has nothing on her side except the riddle of Battler's guest room.
If Erika can just strike a blue wedge through that one riddle, it'll mean that she's solved everything!
They can win. I believe in Beatrice... and Battler... our two masters!

For once... it feels as though our chances of winning are 50/50. So I'd like to thank you beforehand.
It is simply my JOB. There is no need to thank ME.

Please, forgive my ARROGANCE. I felt that I needed to protect YOU. As soon as I realized what a frail truth you live by... and how much you have been tortured by the violence of a more plausible mixture of truth and lies... I wanted to protect YOU.
Thank you. It wasn't for long, but you were a wonderful partner.
And I will remain SO.
You're right. Once we've defeated her, let's make tons of mysteries on this island together. I'll have you solve them, and tease you as we play. How does that sound?
Sounds INTERESTING. I am looking forward to your CHALLENGE.

The bullets within those magic guns are not lead!
They are bullets of red and blue truth for the battle between mystery and fantasy!
As long as you possess truth, your bullets are endless!
However, being hit by a single one means instant death!
Are you both prepared?!
Certainly.
Of course.
Lady Lambdadelta, the great and powerful Witch of Certainty and member of the glorious Senate! Please come forward! Will you swear to oversee this duel?!
Of course. I swear it.

Therefore, this duel is legitimate. It will center around one, single point. The closed room of Battler's guest room! Battler disappeared from within a closed room sealed by a chain lock! Therefore, Erika has been armed with the blue truth. Beatrice has been armed with the red truth to counter back. The duel will continue until one side is victorious!
Splendid.
Perfect.
OK. Well then, Beato. Present your new, revised tale and riddle to Erika.

Hmph, what a foolish tale.
Very well. Erika, is there anything you wish to confirm?
Repeat it. 'The one who rescued Battler was, without a doubt, Kanon.'
I'll say it. The one who rescued Battler was, without a doubt, Kanon.
Repeat it. 'Battler and Kanon are different people.'
I'll say it. Battler and Kanon are different people.
Hmph. That's enough. I've decided how to fight.
OK! Let both sides load their bullets!

Or maybe Erika can't stand the pressure of Beato's smile. She's already finished loading.

Erika finishes loading, too.
