Fate ga Kill - Targets

The Empire has stood proud and indestructible for over one thousand years, stretching back uninterrupted to the reign of the First Emperor. The Capital has always been the seat of power, and the emperors shall continue to rule from its palace forevermore.

If they are to be eliminated, there are a number of forces to be considered, each with its own high-priority targets.

Imperial Leadership

The Emperor, his family, and his entourage of aides, ministers and bodyguards. This is the top of the list - the most important targets and the most heavily-guarded. Reaching and assassinating these targets will be next to impossible.

Emperor Rei
The 35th Emperor, and absolute ruler of the realm. Emperor Rei is very old, and has all but vanished from public life. His only daughter and her husband both died in a war with a neighboring country ten years ago, but he is succeeded by his grandson.

It is largely understood that Rei is little more than a figurehead at this point. Who holds the real power in the Empire is not exactly certain.

Prince Shin
The grandson of Emperor Rei, to eventually be crowned 36th Emperor. As a contrast to his grandfather, Shin is a very public figure, living a high-profile life of debauchery and wealth. At the age of 20, he has no heir.

Prime Minister Arcadius
With Rei's old age and gradual mental decay, Arcadius has been taking up more and more of the day-to-day political work of the Imperial Court. Very little is known about his private life or personal goals.

Maja
Known as one of the strongest fighters in the Empire, Maja has been the head of the Imperial Guard for ten years. Under her command, no intruder has ever successfully infiltrated the palace and lived to tell the tale.

Norah
Emperor Rei's foreign affairs advisor. Spends a lot of time out of the Capital.

Ao
Emperor Rei's military advisor. The Emperor has total command over the Empire's armies, but Ao provides strategic recommendations such that most of the army's military victories are made according to her plans.

Oleg
Emperor Rei's recently-appointed internal security advisor. More traitors perished under Oleg's leadership in his first year than in any other year on record.

Military Police

The peacekeeping forces that ensure that order is maintained in the Capital. While they are less prestigious or expansive than the army, the Military Police are a much greater threat to anyone trying to oppose the government in the Capital itself.

Commissioner Sasha
Chief of the Military Police. An avenging angel who suffers no enemy of the state to live. Wields the Teigu Arkangelus, the capabilities of which are not fully known.

Deputy Commissioner Nazaras
Sasha's right hand and assistant. Works more closely with the six Division Chiefs in running the security of the city.

The Army

The Empire's actual military forces. Legendary for their strenth and ruthlessness, the Empire has never lost a war with one of its neighbors. Most of the Imperial Army is elsewhere in the country, but in an emergency, their forces could be recalled to the Capital.

The army is commanded by the Emperor, but run primarily by three generals. All three are Teigu wielders.

General Hagane
An old general with a long, bloody campaign history. Has famously never been visibly injured in battle.

General Ilda
Currently away on a distant military campaign to expand the Empire's borders. Has no tolerance either for weakness or mercy.

General Valentin
The most recently-appointed general, who climbed the ranks from Private. Several of his former superiors died under mysterious circumstances.

Noble Houses

While they are not a part of the government, many older aristocratic families are heavily invested in maintaining the status quo, due to profiting massively from it. Some of them are powerful enough to hire mercenary groups or Teigu users for their own protection or other purposes.

House Rota
A prestigious family whose sons and daughters have become many of the most famed military officers in the Empire's history.

House Hedonis
An extremely wealthy noble house that unofficially controls large swaths of the commerce that goes on within the city, to ensure that the people/companies they like succeed and the ones they don't fail.

There are, of course, more groups and people to worry about, but these can be considered some of your higher-priority targets.
