It's the final Sakuya chapter, so time to go all out with upgrades!
LET'S GO
Remilia's room!
Patchouli is surprised to see her awake before sundown.
The conversation topic is the same as always! Patchouli points out that if Remilia orders it, Sakuya would stay.
Remilia says that a proper mistress doesn't have to go around ordering her servants not to leave, but Patchy isn't so sure...
At the foot of Youkai Mountain!
Sakuya is walking and thinking.
While she's lost in thought, she hears a voice!
LET'S INVESTIGATE
Some strange person is here, admiring the flowers and waxing philosophical!
Sakuya asks who she is, and what she is doing here.
The stranger insists on one question at a time! As for who she is, she's just your friendly neighborhood shinigami. And not to worry, she's not here to take Sakuya's life.
Miss Shinigami was apparently here to pick up the spirit of a suicide victim, but got the place and time wrong. Apparently that's easy to do, these days.
This may be a problem, as it's apparently a pretty dangerous ghost.
Speak of the devil! The ghosts are coming out of the woodworks.
Come on, Sakuya, lend a hand!
There are more of the buggers than expected!
Fortunately, Sakuya doesn't mind helping out.
The shinigami warns that these are vengeful spirits, much more dangerous than your garden variety ghost.
Seems that these managed to gather up because our shinigami friend was slacking on the job. Let's deal with this shit!
We still don't get her name! It's just listed as "shinigami."
She's melee-focused, but pretty powerful and tanky. She has Strike (guaranteed hit for one turn), Mercy (next attack can't bring the enemy below 10 HP), and Trust (restore 2000 HP).
Defeat condition is either character going down, victory condition is defeat of the red ghost, bonus condition is defeat of all ghosts. Let's go!
The ghosts fight by teleporting on top of us and burning us!
Shinigami pulls the enemy in for a lightning-fast scythe slash!
Sakuya gets the feeling that the red ghost is interested in her in particular. Maybe because she's human...?
Incidentally, these ghosts have some damn large danmaku fields.
STABBING GHOSTS
Our mysterious friend is making short work of these ghosts! Makes sense, since this is her job.
And that's the last blue ghost left!
All that remains is the boss.
9000 HP is pretty unimpressive for a boss, but to be fair, we DO only have two characters.
ENGAGE
This won't take long!
Sakuya's World
AND done.
"You must be tired after being angry for so long. Time for you to rest."
Well, time to bring those spirits to the afterlife. She apologizes for dragging Sakuya into the affair.
Sakuya asks what will become of these spirits! The shinigami says that that's up to her master, a fair judge who justly divides everything into black and white.
Also, she probably has a long lecture waiting for her when she gets back.
Apparently these kinds of spirits show up when people lose track of what's truly important to them.
Sound familiar, Sakuya?
"Your name is Sakuya Izayoi. Starting today, you'll be my maid..."
It seems like Sakuya's found the answer she was looking for. What it is she wanted from the beginning.
The shinigami doesn't get it, but at least thinks that Sakuya's making a better expression now.
Sakuya thanks her random acquaintance of the day for helping her sort this out, and heads back home.
The shinigami reflects that helping the living isn't too bad, either.
Sakuya's back! Surprising the hell out of a half-asleep Meiling.
Meiling notices that Sakuya's carrying a flower back with her. She says that it's a rare flower she found on the way back, and she's thinking of making tea with it.
Meiling thinks something's different about Sakuya now, but doesn't say anything...
Back inside! Yuka is interested in Sakuya's decision.
Apparently what Yuka had talked to her about was the possibility of Sakuya leaving with her, instead of remaining at the mansion.
On that note, it looks like it's time for Yuka to leave the mansion! She's seen what she wanted to see. Sakuya comments that the mansion may become quieter now.
Yuka cautiouns that when they next meet, they may be enemies. If so, Sakuya looks forward to it.
As an afterthought, Yuka asks what Sakuya thinks of a flower that only blooms for one night. Sakuya says that that one night would be the flower's entire life, so it would surely be far from an ordinary blossom.
Yuka tells Sakuya that she is such a flower, so bloom well.
Remilia is pleased to see that her maid has decided not to run away after all! Welcome back.
The tea turned out horribly bitter, in the end.
Patchouli, Meiling, Sakuya's acting weird!

Somewhere to eat and sleep, somewhere to live... right now, that's more than enough for me.
