Final Route, Chapter 7: Clone Law

We are back to killing time in LeMU!

Small talk ensues.

Tsugumi is still as rage-filled as ever.

As the conversation draws to a standstill, Tsugumi gives me a look before leaving.

I guess I might as well go bother her.

Thank you for being good at conversations, Tsugumi!

Seriously, I can tell you have something you want to say to me.

Aha. We're making progress now.

Until she says she can't say them yet.

Okay, that might be why you were helping with the repairs.

But why do you keep hanging out with us if you distrust us so much?

Jewel what?

Pretty standard gimmick sale campaign. Buy chocolate, get toy ring, collect them all.

For some people the logic gets all backwards, and the ring becomes the reason to buy the chocolate, which gets forgotten.

What does that have to do with us, though?

Tsugumi isn't hanging out with us to hang out with us.

The chocolate is a secondary gain. She's just collecting rings.

And then another strangeness of perception.

When I get my bearings again, Tsugumi is already gone.

Oh hey look it's those two.

Uh, am I interrupting something.

Uh huh.

Takeshi, apparently, is off at the merry go round again.

Hey, don't look at me like that.

I'm a 21st century guy. I'm not judging anybody.

PUTTING all such thoughts aside, time to go talk to Takeshi I guess.

Wow, uh.

Takeshi is rambling incoherently and possibly drunkenly. He is the only person here.

Poor Takeshi.

Driven mad by his confinement to LeMU.

On the way out, one phrase reaches my ears...

The world falls apart as soon as I hear it.

I don't know who I am.

Is it me that's falling?

Or is it someone else?

What is Clone Law?

Clone Law?

Clone Law...?

--Clone Law?

Right, I remember what it means.

But what does that have to do with what we're talking about?

Multiple Soras are less like photocopies and more likes human clones.

Different identities with the same original source material.

If an exact copy were made of me, they would soon be their own people.

But if you looked back in time, you would be able to see the point when they were just one.

If an exact copy of the universe were made, with one slight difference, it would result in two of me, both on their own branch down the path, neither aware of the other.

A 4th dimension of perception would be necessary to see the other me.

That's all Sora has to say on that point, unfortunately.

The rest is a secret...

To be continued
