Let's Play Iji Again

Sector 7

<< | ^^ | >>

Sector 7! This one's intense.

Taking sneaky routes to avoid combat!

Not that it matters, because I'm totally gonna have to do this stage twice.

Okay, getting across this gap without falling in is tricky. The low ceiling means it requires pixel-perfect jumping...

Or a nuke!

IJI
Now wasn't that a waste of time.

That's all I get!

Lots of dicking around in ventilation shafts!

Into the spaceship!

Wait - what's a Tasen doing in here?

IJI
Huh? You?

VATEILIKA
Yeah, remember me? "Sector 3"? The truce? I don't care what you've been up to since then, even if you've shot any Tasen.
Anyway, I snuck into this ship trying to find some good weapons, but to be honest, I didn't dare go any farther.

IJI
What? You're trying to raid a Komato ship alone?!

VATEILIKA
Haha, much like yerself! I like you, human. You got some serious guts. Tell you what, I've found all sorts of things up here, so just give me a tap on the shoulder with C and I'll fill you right up with some Health and ammo. All I want in return is a tiny bit of Nano. I'll be around, so no rush.

I can use Vateilika as an ammo/health restorer now!

It costs Nano, though, so eeh.

Onward, into the bowels of the ship!

And this is where I must go for the next unlock!

First I bust open the door with a Hyper Pulse...

Then I nukejump across!

The advertisements of the Sentinels are pretty weird. I mean, they're built for and owned by the Imperial Army, it's not like you could buy one. The posters do look inspirational, though.

Poster #7 clear!

Time to reset and undo those 4 kills on my record.

This time, I'm starting with a Nano reboot. Time to gear up for war!

10 Attack! 10 Health!

10 Tasen!

No moronic Nukejumping this time!

Armor upgrade!

And extra points dumped into Assimilate!

Whatever could I be scheming?

Back into the ship!

Sup, Vateilika!

AND NOW I'm back past where I was before.

Phantom Hammer down!

Let's get the hell out of here.

It's a daring escape!

Ah! I see it!

But I can't get to it from here.

But if I go around and to the right here...

And attrition my way through a pair of Beasts...

I'm there!

DAN
Iji, it's me. How are you doing? You've been fighting for a long time without food or sleep now.

IJI
Oh... actually, I haven't noticed. I've been thinking of Mia and you, and it's just kept me going.

DAN
Mia...

IJI
Yeah. You know, I could always rely on her. When mom left, and I had to take her place, Mia still looked up to me, made me feel better. I don't know why you and me were never closer, but...

DAN
Heh. Mia was so young. And a girl. You always took her side.

IJI
Err, Dan?

DAN
Yeah?

IJI
You're not angry, right?

DAN
No, no. Don't worry, we were only kids.

IJI
But we're family! You're my little bro, and I only ever cared about Mia. I'm sorry that -

DAN
Don't apologize! It makes you look weak, sis. I always looked up to you, so you've gotta hold your head high. We don't have time to argue about this.

IJI
Heh. Thanks, that makes me feel better. Talk to you soon!

DAN
Right.

It hurts going this way, too!

Stocking on ammo!

And we're to the boss room!

Okay, now the reason for all that gearing up!

The way to get the Supercharge for this Sector:

Kill Sentinel Proxima without using either electropad.

Yikes.

This mainly involves sticking to the upper two floors and using the hell out of the MPFB - it's my most damaging HP weapon, and my Attack is 10, meaning all my damage output is doubled.

Even then, I have to be careful! A couple misses, and not even all my Devastator ammo will be enough to take it down.

I'm not the only one with a Devastator!

Proxima is still armed to the teeth, but with my maxed-out Health, I don't think it'll be a problem.

THIS attack is the problem. The only way to stop it from going off is to knock it into the electropads.

All I can really do is knock it back and forth while it charges for extra damage...

And then get nuked.

Again, this is why I have max Health!

Oh, come on! Three MPFBs in a row? I only have so many places to dodge to!

First lifebar down!

I like using temporary hitstun invincibility to fire the MPFB standing up.

It has a Splintergun! I don't think we saw that on the last playthrough.

As you can tell, this version of the fight is basically a long, ridiculous slog.

I done got nuked again!

Almost got it!

Almost out of ammo!

BOOYAH

Next time: Changing history!
