Ran chastizes Chen, reminding her that they're here on orders from Yukari. She's sleeping through the winter, and since the winter still hasn't ended...

So, it falls to Ran and Chen to keep a lookout for suspicious types who might try to take advantage of their master's absence. If an incident starts, their job is to resolve it.

Nazrin has a similar attack set to her master, but is much more dodging-oriented, and not nearly as good.

Introductions time! Cirno thought Nazrin was the one in charge. Not unreasonably, as she's the one doing all the talking.



More importantly than their somewhat sketchy origins, do they know anything about that cat they were fighting? Shou thinks not, but apparently she was somoene else's Shikigami - sort of like a familiar.

And apparently her master is a nine-tailed fox named Ran. Reimu knows that name.



So Chen is Ran's Shikigami, and Ran is Yukari's Shikigami. It would be good not to have to fight someone so powerful that even their Shikigami has a Shikigami. Fortunately, it's hard to think that the Sage of Youkai would have anything to do with this.



Shizuha asks if these two want to come along with us. Nazrin is eager to keep going in separate directions, but Shou disagrees!

To her, now knowing the full extent of the danger that the human village is in, this is the only path of justice.



Anyway, Reimu has figured out where the trail of cherry petals are coming from. It's up!

And not just into the trees. Up, beyond the cloud layer!
