Shou's special skills are Dazzling Gold (+15% points from battle), and Bishamonten's Protection (Incoming damage -10% when Power is over 120). I'll be using the former for great upgradey justice.



We're above the clouds! It's been so long since we actually saw the sun. It's like a completely different world up here.



This is where our new friends come in handy - Nazrin is a dowser! With her power, she can certainly find the lost spring as long as there are any trace of it to be found.



Hey look, we're not the only ones up here! Marisa's group rejoins us above the clouds. We are once again a united party.



Lily White introduces herself to the other half of the team. The Three Fairies know her by reputation! Apparently she's somewhat famous among fairies.

Nazrin and Shou give their introductions as well, vague as they may be.



Aya and Keine are more than a little surprised when Alice mentions their little trip to the underground. Aya in particular is shocked that any surface youkai would dare set foot down there.



Reimu's more interested in what they're doing up here, since Marisa didn't stumble upon the trail of spring. Marisa's reluctant to say anything for fear of her answer being really dumb, but it literally came to her in a dream.

Reimu is convinced that strange mushrooms were involved.



Youmu... the netherworld... the trail of cherry petals... everything is slowly coming together.

Our destination is the netherworld. Let's go!

Chapter 30: Cherry Blossom Barrier Above the Clouds, First Part

What a nice view! I'm getting chills, being this high up.

You've always liked high places, Sunny.

Just like that saying, about you-know-what and smoke and high places...

Hey, you three, we're almost to the netherworld, so get your act together.

Now now, it's been a long time since we saw proper sunlight, so why not enjoy it a little?

Anyway, isn't that the entrance over there?

Yeah, there's no mistaking it...



That's the Hades Barrier, the boundary between this world and the next.

What a huge gate... I've never seen anything like it.

Hey, Lily, what are you doing rushing on ahead?



It's spring, I can feel the spring waiting just beyond that gate...
It's spring, everyone!!



What's that? There's spring coming through the gate?

So it seems. If Lily's getting back in shape, then I guess we made the right choice in coming here.

Now we just gotta go through it...

Ah, it's the Primblesomething ensemble!

The Prismriver Ensemble. It's not that hard.

You know them?

Yes, we met them before - they're three musician sisters.

Lunasa, who won't shut up about atmospheric pressure; Merlin, who's in charge of rotation, and the great Lyrica.

They seemed to know something about the gathering spring, but...

Now that we've met them here, there's no doubt they're in on it.

Well, I won't say you're wrong.

Today is the netherworld flower viewing concert. We're providing the music!

I see. In other words, the culprit's gathering spring from the netherworld for their party.

Enough chitchat, let's pay them a visit.

Sorry, but you're not on the guest list.

Unwanted noise would get in the way of our performance.

That's what I thought. Fortunately, we're ready to bust through anyway!

We'll defeat you three, then move on to the netherworld!

Lunasa, Merliln and Lyrica each reduced below 60% HP.



It's the biggest map yet! Ten fuzzballs, three spirits, eight fairies, and three poltergeist bosses.



Having found the power of spring, Lily's stats have all skyrocketed, her real attacks are back, and she got her skills in place, including a special skill called Breath of Life (everyone in adjacent spaces gets 10% HP regen per turn). A solid healer unit, she has become!



Anyway, let's get crackin'! This is gonna be a long map, and we have plenty of targets.



For now I'm doing my best to stick to weak, low-impact attacks, since I'm gonna need a lot of resources for the second half of the battle. Also, see that "First Part" in the map title? That means I won't get a complete heal at the end of the stage.



Reimu, Sanae, Keine, Mokou and Lily head west to wipe out the fuzzies, the three fairies squeeze down the middle, and everyone else heads north to wipe out the fairy army.





Lily White has danmaku now!

She also has her very own MAP attack, which is hard as hell to get off, so no promises there.



Several of the fuzzballs are redder, stronger versions, but they're still not very impressive. They just take more than two hits to kill.





And finally, the battles comes to the Prismrivers themselves! Lyrica has a host of keyboarding lasers at her disposal, but can't land a hit on Marisa.



Since fairies are fragile like fine china, the north team finishes first. Time to start closing in on the Prismrivers!





Trio leader against trio leader!

Lyrica has much more health and does more damage, but there's no way Sunny's going to get hit when she's in full formation with her sisters.





The only one of the three who doesn't directly fight with their instrument, Merlin fires some good ol' curvy lasers! Keine can take it.



Take it easy, take it easy. This is the warmup round.



Lyrica: Under 60%!



Merlin: Under 60%!



Lunasa: Under 60%! We're good.

Now we just have to defeat one.



That was easy!

...This legendary ghost violin wouldn't lose, even against a Stradivarius.

Next, on the right. A lively sound, flawlessly controlled, and shining like the sun! None who hear it ever forget its sound!
On trumpet, Merlin Prismriver!



This otherworldly trumpet sucks the very blood out of the veins... don't get too close, or it'll be the last sound you ever hear!

And last, on the left. The phantasmal sound, echoing with the ageless wisdom of the very stars of the night sky.
On keyboard, Lyrica Prismriver!



With a sound you won't find in anything money can buy, a spiritual synthesizer that can pierce through any illusion... nobody can use it like I can!
