37 hours, 15 minutes remain

So far, the events on Rokkenjima are proceeding as normal.

The only small change here is that Maria has a pile of candies she's handing out like it's reverse Halloween.

Maria gives a detailed history of the meaning of Halloween and how it relates to Witches. During the drawing close of the worlds of the living and dead, the witches assemble on the Sabbath and reward the spirits that give out blessings of prosperity.

Eva discreetly taunts Rosa over the fact that Maria believes in all this at her age. At Rosa's urging, Kanon and Gohda escort everyone to the guest house.
But Rosa and Maria stay behind.

The evil witch is back.

Maria endures the abuse, begging her real mother to come back. This isn't mama. She's been possessed by an evil witch.

Rosa heads off to the guest house, leaving Maria alone in the garden with her ruined candy.

Gohda shows the guests to their rooms. Rosa takes a moment alone in hers, since Maria isn't back yet.

And how is Maria doing?

Better than you might think!

Kanon picks up the smashed candy. He received a similar candy earlier, so he thinks to give it to Maria as a replacement.
But Maria wants the original. The one she got from her mother.

Maria gets her candy back. It might be ruined, but it doesn't really matter, does it?
After all, Beatrice will be able to make it good as new.

Shannon broke the mirror. The shrine was destroyed. And here's a little girl who talks like she's friends with Beatrice personally.

The sense of an impending misfortune creeps into Kanon's heart.

As before, Kinzo refuses to leave his study.

Rudolf, Eva and Rosa are all here for the same reason: To fight tooth and nail for their share of Kinzo's inheritance. They have a plan, and Krauss is ready to fight back against it.

Looks like we're in for some nasty weather tonight.

Kyrie turns

As the typhoon starts, the siblings begin their battle.

And, once again, Maria is caught outside in the rain.

Rosa dashes out into the garden to search for Maria. She quickly finds her.

Rosa once again begs her daughter for forgiveness, and it is easily given. After all, it wasn't Rosa who hurt her. It was the evil witch.
However, Maria doesn't want to go back inside yet.

Rosa is at a loss as to what to do. Just as everything was looking like it might be okay, Maria is being difficult again.

Amidst the wind and rain, Rosa sees an otherworldly figure.

BGM: Golden Sneer

Rosa has no idea how to react. What she just saw was impossible.

Beatrice graciously and slightly melodramatically accepts a candy from Maria.
The Golden Witch is here. Rokkenjima has become a closed world, no longer part of Earth.

The witch notices the smashed candy. Maria doesn't say who stepped on it, but Rosa can feel a subtle threat in the way she avoids mentioning it.
Beatrice asks if she can borrow it.

She can fix it, of course, but she needs Maria's help. She has to remember.

Because Maria has her eyes closed, only Rosa sees what follows.

The candy reforms in its original state. Good as new.

Finally, someone acknowledges that Rosa is here!
And yes, she's seen that face before. Not the original, but certainly in a portrait.

In exchange for the candy, Beatrice gives Maria a letter. She must wait until dinner the time is right before opening it.
It contains an invitation to the Golden Land.

However, this time, Beatrice has two letters - one for Maria, and one for Rosa.
Whoever this woman claiming to be Beatrice really is, these letters are the real deal.

Beatrice tells Maria to return to the guest house and wait for lunch, then heads off to the mansion.
She'll be seeing them again later.
