Let's Play Vantage Master

Welcome back!

In pattern with the cutscene last time, we have five new maps to choose from! I'll still be going roughly in order for now, though. Next enemy is Bahn, in an epic battle of Thief VS Thief! If I win, I get another seldom-used spell, Medic.

The map here requires more tactical thinking. There's a river running through the center, meaning that any fire Natials summoned on one side will be unable to move to the other side. Summoning in the right place is essential.

The first step, then, is to summon things to claim Stones on both sides of the water. The light yellow spaces are sandy, and reduce the movement speed of non-air Natials.

The battle line has been more or less established, and my proactive opening has developed it in my favor - my side of the line has five Stones, whereas his only has two.

Somehow a Guene-Foss got hit by an attack from Batman followed by a magic from my Dullmdaler, and survived? I want a refund.

I swiftly take control of the map, not giving Bahn a chance to get his footing. Fa-Rancell is key to water-heavy maps, because not only is it an earth Natial, which is strong against water Natials, but it can swim, albeit slowly.

There, now I own six stones, while he still hasn't bothered to collect the only stone still in his territory.

Okay, Bahn, are you even trying?

This is a rarely-used feature - on the Master's turn, you can freely destruct any Natial you control. I'm getting rid of Dullmdaler here for two reasons:
1: I'm probably never going to use it again. Air Natials can't be summoned into the water, and if Bahn ever sees dry land again, it'll be on the far side of the river.
2: Natials cost MP each hour to maintain. If I destruct Dullmdaler, my MP recover rate will increase.

Honestly, Bahn never had a chance on this one, right from the start.

BATMAN HASII WONED

Magic power up, which means I get more delicious MP each turn! Also, Medic learned, which I can cast on a nearby Natial if it's been immobilized (say, by Zamilpen magic) to recover it. Not that useful, though, since the #1 danger of immobilization magic is when it hits the caster himself.
