Let's Play Mother 3
Chapter 2: Thief Adventure
Part 4: Action Princess
Back on the chase!

At least it's not hard to find our way into the castle now.

Nippolyte isn't looking too hot right now. The tanks, fortunately, are unmanned.
Once inside...

Bring it!

Okay, fine, he can bring it instead!

The Clayman is actually pretty dangerous. Unless you can manage to get its offense down with a Scary Mask, it's hitting for close to 30 damage at a time, and has a lot of HP.

Its ultimate attack is falling over on you, for about 32 damage after offense decrease. However, it then takes a long time to stand back up.

Wess is helping.

Take that, man of clay!

Fed up with their failure of a robot, the Pigmasks retreat. This is good, because it gives me a chance to hit the hot springs.

There are new enemies inside! For the first time, we engage the Pigmask army face to face. They can fire beams for about 15 damage, and can increase their offense by flying into a rage. Also, they drop bags of pork chips, a decent healing item.

The Recon Mechs aren't as strong as the soldiers themselves, but fighting more than one at a time is a decent challenge.

The ghosts in this area have all been wiped out, replaced by the Pigmasks. I almost feel sorry for them.

Okay, not ALL the ghosts. The friendly ones are riding out the seige in the kitchen.

This guy's still around. I don't want to fight him again.

In fact, from here on, I'm ahead of the Pigmasks, so the ghosts are still alive. Unfortunately, this means I have to contend with these jerks.

A couple fights later, I'm back here! Mr. Passion is still gone, though.

The treasure is still gone...
And we're deeper into the castle!

WESS
Oh, is that the thing that's been passed down in Osohe Castle since ancient times? I remember way back when, when I asked King Osohe what it is. His normally gentle expression suddenly turned stern, and he said, "Forget about it.
...I think. I can't remember. I decided to mind my own busines and forget about it ever since then. Or so I recall.
That isn't the "certain important item" I speak of.

As soon as we get a bit further in, we are attacked!

Girl
...!
Wess?! Is that you, you old geezer?
Wess
Oh, Princess! So it WAS you! My, how this brings back memories! Sometimes... I wouldn't remember you for not but a little bit.
No, no, no! Wait! I'm so giddy that I've mixed up my words! I haven't forgotten about you for but a bit! No, no, wait... Duster! You moron! Get your act together!
Girl
Whatever. I got my leg caught in this stupid-ass trap. I can't afford to die here, so I was just thinkin' about cuttin' my foot off.
Wess
Oh-ho-ho! I see you're as reckless as ever! But you needn't resort to removing your foot, Princess. For me and my Thief Arts, a trap of this sort is absolutely nothing to never worry about! No, wait, wait! Just leave it to me! I'll have thiso ff faster than you can say "piece of cake"!

Girl
Hey! My pendant! So YOU stole it, huh?!
Damn. Can't let my guard down for even a second. He your soon, geezer? Hmm... his breath kinda stinks.
Your name's Duster, huh. My name's...

Kumatora
...Kumatora. Good to meetcha!
...? What're you doin'? Let's go!
Wess
Wherever are you headed, Princess?
Kumatora
Isn't it obvious? You guys're here for it too, aintcha?
Wess
...But, your leg is injured...
Kumatora
Just a little spit on it and it'll be good as new! Let's move!
Hey! Geezer's son! Escort me, will ya?! Geez!

New party member get!
Then, a few steps later...

Word on the Wind
Greetings!
I apologize for being so sudden, but you know the phrase, "The word on the wind is..."? Yeah, I'm that wind. I'm where rumors come from.
Rumor has it that Kumatora, the mysterious, strong girl who just joined you, is able to use psychic powers, or PSI. If it's true, then you'll definitely have the upper hand in battles from now on.
Well, that's all for this "Word on the Wind." I should be going now. Bye!
*whooosh*
Kumatora
What's the hold-up? Let's get goin' already!
All right, let's check this out.

Kumatora's a solid six levels lower than Duster, and has way lower stats in everything except IQ. However, what she DOES have, is PSI.

Kumatora only has two spells right now. PK Fire damage all enemies, and sometimes sets them on fire for ongoing damage. PK Freeze damages one enemy, and sometimes solidifies the enemy, making them unable to attack for a short time.
With these new powers, the next area should theoretically be a breeze!
