Let's Play Umineko Chiru, Episode 8 Scene 30: The Creator
<< | ^^ | >>

So long as Bern and Lambda continue to put everything they have into the fight, neither will overcome the other.

Lambda's at least strong enough to buy them the time they need, it seems. Then again, in all likelihood, a terrible fate awaits her after this is over.

Something is coming down the corridor.

Just a few cats shouldn't make a difference - Bern's cats were only ever dangerous because they numbered in the millions.
However, something seems different about these ones.

BGM: Grey Empty Smile

The creatures surrounding Featherine are only taking the forms of cats out of respect for their master.

Featherine Augustus Aurora. The witch who reached the level of a Creator. She looks down on witches as witches look down on humans.
There is no defeating her. She isn't even someone who the likes of Bern and Lambda can try to fight.

The seal on the key is going to dissolve at any second, but it may not be long enough.

If Lambdadelta were to attack Bernkastel now, Featherine would respond in kind.
Bern offers a deal.

Bernkastel, Witch of Miracles, knows the faint but real danger posed by pieces like Battler.

Looks like there's nothing left to do. Battler prepares to become a sacrifice.

The cats surrounding Featherine adopt a battle formation.

Lambda is still stopping Bern from reaching the key. To oppose her in the presence of Featherine will undeniably have dire consequences.

Just as Featherine offers protection to Bern, Lambda offers protection to everyone from the Golden Land. They are all her Readers.

She's been putting a lot of thought into which tale is more interesting - Featherine's, or Battler's.

While she bluffs, Lambda focuses on Featherine's single weak point.

It happened once before, and her personality and appearance were altered. The odds of her being able to hit it are nil.
Featherine asks Lambda for the script for the tale she intends to weave.

She will reward Lambdadelta's bravery by facing her directly. The cats move aside.

Sorry, but Lambdadelta's script has been rejected.

The text is the tale up until this moment. Featherine will be writing the ending herself.

A common writer's trick is to go backwards - start with how the scene will end, and extrapolate from there.

Lambdadelta's form adjusts itself in the frozen world.

Unfortunately, Featherine's feeling a bit tipsy right now. She'll have to fill in the rest of the details of the scene later.

Time resumes.

The thing that killed Lambda hasn't been written yet, so it's only natural.

Lambda is swallowed up by darkness.

Ange is the Witch of the Future. She must not accept Lambdadelta's defeat, or it will be immutable.

Battler reaches for the key at once, but a tremor shakes the room.

Nowhere to run.

BGM: Lastend Conductor

Bernkastel's body breaks apart, reconstructing in front of Battler.

Take it back.

Battler throws a second punch, which Bern only evades by a hair's breadth.
Moments later, the sensation of the punch she took reaches her brain.

It had been so long since she felt pain that she couldn't remember how.

Bernkastel shudders.
Trying to strike Bern is like trying to strike the reflection of the moon in a pool of water. At least, it should be.

Bernkastel teleports behind Battler, but he was already winding up the kick that slams into her stomach.

To hit her once would have been a miracle, but he's done it twice now.
Battler is truly capable of hitting Bernkastel.

Featherine's cats advance, each drawing a magic circle.

Enough firepower to destroy a universe hits Battler all at once.
When the smoke clears, there's still a person standing there.

The attack didn't so much as ruffle the hair on Battler's head.

Nobody can interfere with Battler's tale.

Featherine apologizes on Bernkastel's behalf. She acknowledges that the right to weave the ending of this game rests only in the hands of the Game Master.

If two Game Masters are going to fight, they have to do it by the rules of the game.

Battler and Ange believe that the friends they left behind won't lose.
