Background: A member of the church and an ally of the Burial Agency, Caren served as the mediator in a fake Holy Grail War that started after the end of the fifth war.
Rin can't get in touch with Shirou! Instead she gets this person.
Recon says that Shirou and Sakura are OK, but they've lost contact with Rider. We know why.

Background: Sakura is the adopted daughter of the Matou family, having originally been from the Tohsaka family. She fought in the Grail War indirectly, as Rider's Master... but her true purpose was as a host for a terrible shadow that plauged the fifth War. After much suffering, she snapped, and the darkness in her heart ran wild, nearly consuming all of Fuyuki. However, Rin's family bond and Shirou's love were eventually able to break her free from the curse of Angra Mainyu, and she was last seen living happily with Shirou.

Shirou Emiya

Species: Human
Background: Adopted son of the magus Kiritsugu Emiya, Shirou stumbled upon the Grail War nearly by accident. As the Master of Saber, he was technically eliminated fairly early on when Saber was consumed by darkness, but he continued to fight, becoming strong enough to oppose Servants with the power of a transplanted Servant's arm. The grafted arm was slowly destroying his body, but he survived long enough to rescue Sakura and defeat Kotomine, the mastermind of the corrupted Grail War. His body was lost, and he now lives on in an artificial replacement body.
Shirou's new body isn't perfect - he still has trouble with subtler movements.
They haven't heard from Rin since she left for Misaki City, but hey, no news is good news, right?
Traditionally, magi are terrible with technology. Rin is no exception, being even worse than the usual magus.
Then, a sound betrays the presence of an intruder on the premises...

Despite not being that sturdy, Shirou is great at Defensive Support!
This is IC.
While she's no Saber, Rider is pretty formidable - she's the key to this party surviving.
General strategy: Rider takes point, Shirou covers her for damage, Sakura provides support from the back.
The enemy has a lot of debuffs, so it's a good thing that Shirou has this!
Shirou's basic weapon is a +1 wooden sword. Pretty terrible!
Sakura, on the other hand, primarily attacks using fanservice.

True to form, Shirou is fairly fragile, but has Faith - Spirit that restores HP to full - for only 20 SP. Crazy seesaw battle!
Caren is another support unit - she uses hymns to buff her allies, either increasing attack power or will.
This is a hard Battle Mastery to get - the bird will retreat when it drops below 4500 HP, and I need to actually take it out. It won't be easy to do that much damage in one attack...
Meanwhile, Shirou will be busy taking out the remaining spiders! They're helpless at melee range.
Caren has one major advantage over other support healers - she can take hits!
OK, this is as close as we're going to get.
Let's give it a shot!
