Let's Play Umineko, Episode 3 Scene 20: The Resurrection
<< | ^^ | >>

Died in the hall of the mansion, his forehead pierced by a stake-shaped weapon.
From here on, a stake must be the finishing blow. How vulgar.

Died in the hall of the mansion, her stomach pierced by a stake-like weapon.
The stomach isn't a very lethal spot. Is it OK to kill in a different way and stick the stake in the corpse?

Died in the hall of the mansion, his chest pierced by a stake-shaped weapon.
How careless. He was still living...

The thread of light that murdered Krauss and Natsuhi now drags them out of the guest house with a thud.

When Eva returns, it's as if they had never been here in the first place.
She sits, and waits for the other two to return.

In the mansion, Beato and George struggle with the magic that will bring Shannon's soul back.

George calls out with his heart. Beato supplements his power with her own.

Losing most of her power has given Beato a new respect for what little she has left. This is actually quite difficult magic.
Fortunately, George's power, although it's not exactly magic, is quite strong. The blood of Kinzo flows in his veins... no. That's not where his power comes from.

Kinzo created him, Shannon gave it to him, Battler taught him to feel it, but now George's power is his alone.
It's the power of a human who can't surpass the barrier of death. A power greater than the Endless Magic.

For the first time, Beato comes to respect the power of humanity.

BGM: Daydream's End
The vase that falls is broken. The life that ends is lost.

Close your eyes, and remember.
What form did she have?

The door to Hades opens.

Responding to George's sadness, the souls of the dead bring Shannon back to the gate.
Those souls recall that they are loved after their death, and feel a bit of peace.

Shannon's soul ascends to another world.

The lovers are united once more.

It's not a dream. This is real.
There are no words in this world appropriate for the reunion of two lovers who were separated by death. So, nothing need be said.

On one of Shannon's fingers, the engagement ring that George gave her, sparkling with a light beyond that of a simple diamond.

This miracle is not Beato's to claim. It belongs to George. This miracle is something an Endless Witch couldn't understand.
She accepts in her heart that true magic exists in a place far, far away from that of a Great Witch.

This is the answer to what Battler was saying. Why Beato is only an apprentice.

???

...My head... feels parched and suffocated... and I can't even remember... more importantly, didn't I kill you? You shouldn't be appearing...
You have let me live until now. That is why I can appear like this. However, I did not come just ot pat your head.
Did you come to sneer at how pathetic I am? After all this time, if I have my head patted by a retired witch, the other witches will laugh at me...
That's right. Not only are you not a full adult, but you boast about avoiding your duty, and the fact that you only learned how to use magic now is so embarrassing that you can't tell anybody.
That's right. Keep it a secret, Teacher...

BGM: Nighteyes

In an instant, the golden arrow of the Siesta Sisters annihilates the hearts of the two reunited lovers.

After all the effort it took to rebuild the vase, all it takes to break it again is a little push.

The dying lovers thank Beato for this moment they shared.
The golden snake searches through the room for more prey.

Before Beato is killed, Virgilia appears, filling the room with an obscuring golden haze.

Outside, the Siesta Sisters recalculate their attack. This is only a minor setback.
No magical barrier can block the golden bow. Nothing can block the golden bow.

Virgilia dies in Beato's place. Of course, she was already dead, so this is simply a return to the correct flow of events.
Beato uses this moment to escape.

Beato's heart is heavy with regret. Everything she worked so hard to create was destroyed so casually, and her teacher was taken from her as well.
Now she truly understands the pain she inflicts on others with her careless cruelty.

The other Beatrice doesn't, though.

Believing she killed Beato, EVA-Beatrice regrets only that there is no corpse for her to play with.
