Let's Play Vantage Master
Welcome back!

Our next battle is against Yajiros the, uh... Samurai, I think the class is called? Let's go with Samurai. Our prize is Currier-Bell, an air Natial that I want to acquire before doing any other maps.

It's not immediately clear how one should proceed on this map. The center area is the densest collection of Magic Stones... but it's also extremely vulnerable to ranged attacks from the high ground.
Whatever my strategy, I'll be starting with two new units.

This is D-Alma! It's a solid mid-range healer, but I'll mainly be using it as a scout.

And this is Blexe, which will be helping be keep tabs on below with a ranged assault from on high.

D-Alma is my scout because, at 7 Move, it's one of the fastest units in the game.

The enemy reaches the center Stones before I do, but I have a much better position to attack from. It's a calculated tradeoff. Also...

He left his rear position totally undefended.

And this is what he sacrificed by going directly for the Stones. This range is brutal.

Even my throwing daggers have tricked-out range! With this, I can upset that nice balance going on in the center.

D-Alma healing engage! I now own three of the four center Stones.

Sorry, dude, but you gave up the high ground in a gamble that didn't pay off.

Blexe is such a fantastic ranged attacker.

And with this, it's over.

BATMAN HASII WONED

More magic defense = Ho Hum. Currier-Bell, though, is like Guene-Foss on steroids, and will serve as one of our primary soldiers of the element!
