Let's Play Umineko Chiru, Episode 6 Scene 5: The Two Loves
<< | ^^ | >>

Amakusa Juuza
A former guard of Eva's. His guiding principle is of undertaking dangerous jobs for little money and performing with extreme skill.
At one point, he did guard work for Ange, but after repeatedly breaking Eva's strict order not to talk to her, he became disliked and was ultimately fired.
Ange isn't as dissatisfied as she might seem at having him as a person to talk to.
This man, who has travelled between the Japan Self-Defense Force, the Foreign Legion, and non-government military companies, has skill in counter-sniping and VIP escorting.

Reviving Beato as a piece is easy. However, that piece only acts as the Game Master orders it to act.
It's even more lonely than talking to himself.

The real Beato has disappeared for all eternity. Even as Game Master, there's nothing Battler can do.

BGM: Hope

Krauss is taking a rest from a stress-induced stomachache. Jessica has gone off with Kumasawa to greet the incoming relatives.

Shannon and Kanon are preparing the mansion for the guests.

Kanon chastises Shannon for letting her thoughts about George distract her from her work. She counters by teasing him about Jessica.
Kanon was supposed to go along with Jessica to greet the relatives, but had declined to stay back and work in the mansion.

What if they're only furniture because they think they're furniture?

Kanon knows that Shannon is out of line, but he also knows that nothing he can say will deter her.
So why talk about it at all?

Is that really true?

Even Kanon wants to know love.

At Shannon's repeated pestering, Kanon admits what he actually feels.

Being human or furniture has nothing to do with love. It's a right that you give to yourself.

When George comes to the island, he will certainly propose to Shannon. She will certainly accept that proposal.

Either of them has the ability to get in the way of the other's happiness. It all comes down to which love is stronger.

Shannon and Kanon both promise to not use the other as an excuse to hide from their own feelings. Whatever the outcome, both will rejoice in the result.

After all, starting now...

Later, the relatives make their way from the boat.

Kanon and Gohda greet the family. Everyone can immediately tell that he's in high spirits compared to normal.
Had he always been that sullen?

In a rare display of honesty, Kanon apologizes for not coming with her to Niijima earlier.

What do you even say to that?

If Shannon ever stops working here, Kanon plans to quit as well.
So, does this mean he's going to leave, too?

Kanon asks Jessica for one last favor - some time for him to learn how to stop being furniture. That's his last act of weakness.

Kanon will address her by name, now, when they're alone. Just like George and Shannon.
Because Shannon told her about the proposal, Kanon was able to think deeply about his own feelings.

But there's one extra detail, still. If Kanon is calling Jessica by her name, then shouldn't Jessica get to do the same?

As Shannon is Sayo, so Kanon is Yoshiya.

The new Beatrice is not the old Beatrice. They are different people, with different experiences.
