A word on spellbooks: Spells have a certain number of times they can be cast before they are exhausted. Each time you read a spellbook, you get more castings of the spell. There are, however, two schools of thought on this subject:
Read all at once Once you get a book, read it over and over until the spellbook vanishes. PROS: Easy, quick, you don't have to lug the spellbook around, no trouble if the spellbook gets damaged
Read over time Hold onto a spellbook, and read it again whenever you run out of castings. PROS: You actually get significantly more castings this way
