Let's Play Umineko Chiru, Episode 8 Scene 18: The Final Golden Witch
<< | ^^ | >>

Bernkastel
She is the witch who controls miracles, but she's also known as the witch who knows miracles do not occur.
She is determined to destroy the Illusion of the Witch, and even now that Beato's game board has fulfilled its function, her determination remains just as strong.
She is known as the miko of the great Lady Aurora, and rumor has it that this backing has given her considerable influence in the Senate.

Bernkastel assures Battler that Ange isn't in any danger - she's just setting on a sofa, sipping tea.

That kind of straightforward game is where Erika shines. Then again, what if she used some kind of insane logic to pin someone other than Battler as the culprit?

Bern really does seem like the type to come up with some extra way to torment Ange, just as a last bit of revenge against Battler.
Just goes to show that Lambdadelta knows her better than anyone in the universe, she says.

Elsewhere, Genji reports that Ange has finally arrived.

Something seems off about Ange's expression.
Walking past Battler, she exchanges some whispered words with Bernkastel.

Beato lets it drop. Battler and Ange are left alone.

Battler almost had her fooled, but hasn't he been lying since the very beginning?
Ange wanted the truth, but all she got was this sentimental farce.

The rest of the family looks on in uncomfortable silence.

Nobody ever told the tale of Rokkenjima. Ange's search is meaningless. There's nothing inside the box.

That settles it - Battler's hiding the book.

Eva begs her to not believe anything she wrote in there, but it's too late for that. Featherine's red truth seals it.

A cyclone of gold rises around Ange.

BGM: Golden Nocturne

Beatrice is the Golden and Endless Witch, but Ange is the Witch of Gold and Truth. No illusion can stop her.
It's time to start the real party. ANGE vanishes, and another witch takes her place.

The sole survivor of Rokkenjima. The Witch of the Future. The Golden Witch of the years between 1986 and 1998.
She's brought some friends with here to share their theories.

Inside EVA's bottle is an ominous Fragment. Beatrice recognizes at once the danger it represents.

EVA and Bernkastel both vanish.
A thundering roar fills the hall.

Something emerges from one of the Fragments surrounding the mansion.

More and more dark forms rise from the sea of Fragments.

Beyond these walls, the sea of goats goes on forever.

These goats don't belong to Beatrice or Virgilia. They're the delusions of the people from the world of 1998.

Countless people, spending over a decade making up theories about the tragedy of Rokkenjima for their own enjoyment.

Strange sounds are coming from the garden.

The goats are here to destroy the game board itself. They won't accept a truth where the Rokkenjima family is happy. They'll only accept the truth they were already looking for.

One of the goats starts moving towards the mansion.

Cornelia moves to reinforce the window as the goats begin to push against it.
However, there are many windows in this hall.

The two windows hold, but a third shatters. A goat is in in the mansion.

The stakes destroy the first, but more goats follow.

The Ushiromiyas retreat to the upstairs, as the goats start tearing the mansion apart.

The humans all take refuge on floor 2. Battler orders Dlanor's group to seal the stairs, but they'll need time.

The wall of goats slowly draws near. Everything has been sealed save for the main staircase.

Probably better off this way. After all, they wouldn't want some weirdo witch stealing all their thunder.

As the rest of their supernatural allies hold the stairs, Battler, Beato, and Gaap fall into a hole opened by the latter.

The goat army is visible in full from here. They're an ocean.
As Rokkenjima pokes out from the sea, the mansion pokes out from the endless tide of goats.

That's not all, either. Gaap points to the shoreline. Could it be...?
