That's the basic concept. Depending on the nature of the wish, the exact timing of its granting may vary, but in most cases, the wish is instantaneous.

Well, you could make "I wish I could protect people from witches" your wish, but a personal wish is more powerful, generally speaking.

Also, you don't seem to share my particular motivation. I'm curious why you do it.
